A study made by researches from Mashhad University of Medical Sciences showed that flossing following by brushing is preferred to brushing then flossing to reduce interdental plaque and increase fluoride concentration in interdental plaque.*
So this means, always floss before brushing!

Fear of bleeding gums when flossing :

Some people avoid flossing their teeth because of their fear of bleeding gums but flossing actually helps improve the health of your gums and so preventing them from bleeding!
Hence, the more you floss the less likely your gums will bleed.

The technique of Flossing:

The more you floss, the easier it gets.

  1. Carefully slide the floss back and forth between your teeth. Try to curve your floss around the tooth at the gum line.
  2. Gently rub the side of your tooth using a downward motion. Try to avoid using see-saw motion.
  3. Don’t forget the backside of the last tooth.
